For the best experience with the latest DivX 11 Software, we recommend uninstalling DivX 10. Uninstalling DivX 10 will remove the older program and stop any unnecessary update notifications. If you’d like to keep both DivX 10 and DivX 11 installed on the same PC, you may notice persistent update notifications popping up. Since we know it’s a nuisance, below are some steps to resolve this issue immediately.
You can easily stop these notifications from showing up by disabling the automatic update checker. There are two ways to do this, depending on your system configuration. Please try Method 1 first, and if that option isn't available, proceed to Method 2.
Method 1: Using the DivX Control Panel
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Type ‘Control Panel’ and open the Windows Control Panel app.
- In the Control Panel search bar (usually in the top right corner), type ‘DivX’.
- If it finds a DivX Control Panel item, click to open it. (If not, move to Method 2.)
- Navigate to the update settings within the DivX Control Panel and change the "Check for updates" setting to Never.
Method 2: Using the Windows Task Scheduler
If the DivX Control Panel entry is not present on your system, you can disable the update task directly through Windows.
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Type ‘Task Scheduler’ and press Enter to open it.
- In the left-hand pane, click on Task Scheduler Library to select it and show its active entries in the middle window.
- Scroll through the list and locate the entry named DivXUpdate.
- Right-click on the DivXUpdate entry and select either Disable or Delete. (Note: Selecting "Disable" will pause the task but keep it on the list in case you want to turn it back on later. Selecting "Delete" will remove the task entirely).
We’re working on an improved solution for this issue and appreciate your patience while we get everything resolved. Thanks!
