The DivX Player supports external subtitles (.srt, .ssa, .ass) embedded subtitles in an .mkv (.ssa or .ass) or in a .divx/.avi (XSUB)
To play a file with embedded subtitles just simply start playing the file and the first subtitle track should play by default.
If the subtitles do not display, try right-clicking in the play area. Select Subtitles > and select the subtitle track you want to use.
To play a video file with external subtitles:
- Place the subtitle track in the same folder as the video with the same name and the player will automatically play the subtitle track with the file. If this does not work, please go to File > Preferences > Subtitles and make sure that “Automatically use corresponding subtitle files” is selected
- You can also open an external subtitle track to play with your video right-clicking in the play area. Select Subtitles > Open a subtitle file > Browse to where the external subtitle file is located on your computer and selected it.
